Rejoice! An Absolute SynthWave
The very first time I heard a synth I knew this was my path, no matter what genre I was going to make music in. Rejoice is a dream come true. It's synth music in unorthodox form, not on the rails of house, trance, dubstep etc. And I reject that a genre of music gets to claim the name synth wave for itself, so I named my album in part, An Absolute SynthWave! Right from the opening Track "Dark Dance" you get high octane energy from the pulsing kicks and the snares that are equivalent to a friend pulling you on to the dance floor with them. "Turnpike Destiny", another major song on the album is more likened to traditional synthwave music in sound and mood at least, but even still, I put my personal touch on the genre's style to make sure it stands out. This song is my vision of the muscle car driving across the neon grid street towards the pixilated sunset. "Neon Nights in Boston" is a fun dance track that came about as I reminisced on the times me and a group of friends club and bar hopped around Boylston and Landsdowne street in Boston. The last two tracks, I'm pretty sure I was entering a dream state under a full moon while creating them. Again, this album is a dream come true. Watching and listening to my Music Master "Kay Kay the Producer" create thoughtful and intricate compositions over and over again like it was nothing made me feel like I could never even come close to her, and even though she has completely disappeared, but for a couple of clips i have of her on instagram, this compilation of synth music was my first step in that direction. Rejoice!
